Like the clappers…

Thursday, June 27th, 2013

Big Shed has been very busy in the workshop lately, hand crafting (with the aid of the odd computer and several nifty machines) some customised and bespoke clapper boards.

…and as they have turned out rather nicely we have decided to share their loveliness with you all.

So now, you too can design you own board and have it just how you want – it’s a personal thing. (more…)

Got a last minute call from Julie Weir at Wiseblood Management, it went something like this:

“Hey Justin, can our Blitz Kids shoot their ‘Never die’ video at Big Shed before they jet off to LA? It’s urgent we need to do it soon!

“No problem, we have Thursday evening free – stay as long as you like, and be as loud as you like too.” (more…)

Jevon O’Neill of Hubbleberry called the other day with an urgent request “Can we create a doctors surgery out of parts of the Big Shed Studio – and in a hurry?”

We have new curtains!

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

The Big Shed Photographic Hire Studio has new curtains – no, not the window kind – the green screen kind!

Now the huge cove at Big Shed has a curtain track running round it from which hang green screen curtains or blue or even black! This makes life easier, simpler and cheaper for everyone – shoot on white in the morning, draw the curtains and shoot on green (or blue or even black) in the afternoon! (more…)

More reasons for MOB to shoot for
Morrisons at Big Shed

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

The MOB are back at the Big Shed with a shopping spree of bookings to shoot a raft of ‘stings’ for retailers Morrisons. Mostly table-top foodstuffs, close up and personal with a few nice moves in the mix. Camera of choice: the Arri Alexa — amazing little workhorse that’s quickly building a dedicated following.

All surplus food product will be donated to Mob Films’ chosen charity, Mustard Tree, directly after the shoots. Mustard Tree are a Manchester based charity who support homeless and vulnerable people.

White Noise impressed by no noise at Big Shed

Tuesday, July 26th, 2011

This week, one of the first real tests for the newly sound-proofed Big Shed Photographic Hire Studio was in progress. Ironically, White Noise, a north west based TV ad production company, was shooting commercials featuring lots of sound.

The shoot for JD Williams features two “presenters” who used used a teleprompter to perform direct to camera. The sound engineer on the job, Mark Nuttall, said “Big Shed is one of the quietest studios I’ve ever been in”.

That’s great news and a real endorsement of the effort that‘s gone in to making Big Shed one of the best places to shoot stills and video.

It’s twins for Big Shed!
Two green screen treadmills
